Episode 14 Show Notes: Classics and Diverse Books

Episode here.

We are back from our LIVE show and answering a few more listener-submitted questions. Ally wanted us to talk about “classics” and Katie wanted to know what to give her white male children to diversify their reading experiences. Carolyn says a classic book is something she won’t want to read again, but a classic movie is something she will want to watch repeatedly. Anna’s moral of the story:

“If you think it’s a classic, it is. If you disagree with someone on this, keep your mouth shut.”

Please send us your best links to lists of diverse books for kids! We need help crowdsourcing on this one.

And please be sure to listen alllllll the way to the end. Past the talking, past the music. Trust us.
