Episode 84: MCU and Bullet Journaling

download

Not at the same time! In preparation for Avengers: Infinity War, we’ve been catching up on all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies (that’s everything except the X-Men and Deadpool and most Spider-Mans, we think?) we missed because of our unwillingness to watch stories about dude superheroes in the theater. We need to watch in the comfort of our home, with our cats and the ability to snark at top volume. And we also have a bunch of stuff to say about bullet journaling, so pull up a seat for this new episode!

For this episode we discussed our obsession with Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars (and other Converse shoes, and shoes in general) in conjunction with our month-long project with @melissazd, #chuckstravaganza. We are wearing our Chucks every day in May to celebrate the fact that shoes don’t have to be brown or black! Topics include where to shop, how to wash, high vs low tops, and more!

Bonus LIVE Segment! HOW FEMININE OR MASCULINE ARE YOU?

Before we taped our LIVE show, we had our studio audience (some of which came in the middle of the process) take a quiz from the book Feminine Lost: Why Most Women are Male by Jennifer Granger. The quiz is entitled “So Just How Feminine or Masculine Are You?” Thanks to our friends on the Amelia Bloomer committee for bringing this book to our attention–we are far from endorsing it, but we had fun taking the quiz!

Episode 14 Show Notes: Classics and Diverse Books

Episode here.

We are back from our LIVE show and answering a few more listener-submitted questions. Ally wanted us to talk about “classics” and Katie wanted to know what to give her white male children to diversify their reading experiences. Carolyn says a classic book is something she won’t want to read again, but a classic movie is something she will want to watch repeatedly. Anna’s moral of the story:

“If you think it’s a classic, it is. If you disagree with someone on this, keep your mouth shut.”
